Eric Bennett, Calvin Barnett, Ray Stovall Named To 2009 All State Team |
-December 27Eric Bennett and Calvin Barnett closed out their Hornet football careers by both being named to the 'First Team' 2009 Oklahoma 5A All-State football team. Eric was named First Team All-Purpose Player for displaying his skills this year on both offense and defense. Calvin was named First Team Defensive Line for his dominating play this year for the Hornets. Eric will be playing his college football at Arkansas, and Calvin will be playing for Oklahoma State. Congratulations Eric and Calvin!!
-More Congratulations. Also honored on this year's All-State Team was Hornet Senior defensive lineman Ray Stovall. Ray was named Second Team Defensive Line. Ray's hard play and talent were apparently noticed by more than just Hornet fans. Way to Go Ray!!
Hornet defensive back, Junior Dante Barnett, was given honorable mention on the All State squad.

Calvin Barnett To Play In All-American Bowl |

-November 23 Hornet lineman and future Oklahoma State Cowboy Calvin Barnett has accepted an invitation to play in the prestigious US Army All-American Bowl, January 9, 2010, in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The game showcases top high school seniors from all across the country. He is currently the only Oklahoma player invited to play. He will be accompanied by interim Hornet head coach Wade Weller. The game will be nationally televised by NBC. He will play defensive tackle for the West Squad.
Hornet Juniors Dillon O'Carroll(lineman) and Derrick Alexander(linebacker) were also invited to attend the US Army National Combine to be held in San Antonio January 7-10. This combine features the top high school juniors from across the country.

Hornets Finish Season With Victory Over Bixby |
-November 5 - Senior NightThe Hornets closed the 2009 season with a hard earned victory over the Bixby Spartans 10-2 on 2009 Senior Night. Eric Bennett scored the game's only touchdown with a 1 yard run in the second quarter. Bixby's only points were scored when a high snap by the Hornets went into the end zone for a safety. One of the game's highlights was lineman and OSU commit Calvin Barnett carrying the ball for a game clinching first down on his only carry of the year. Hornets Have Big Homecoming Win |
-October 23On a very cool October night, the BTW Hornets did their best to warm up a large homecoming crowd with a dominating 48-6 win over the Will Rogers Ropers. Hornet Freshman James Caligone had outstanding game in his first career start, running for 2 touchdowns and throwing for another. Isaac Bennett ran for three touchdowns and 148 yards. -October 15 During halftime ceremonies at last Thursday night's game, the Sophomore class donated a check for $2000 to the Susan G Komen Foundation. The presentation was part of an evening and game dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. |

Hornet Down Nathan Hale On Komen Night |
-October 15On a night honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Hornets downed the Nathan Hale Rangers 24-8 last Thursday evening. Jordy Albert threw 2 touchdowns in his first start for the Hornets at quarterback, filling in for injured Eric Bennett, who is out for the rest of the regular season(3 more games). In the first quarter Dante Barnett made 2 fantastic plays for both an end zone interception, and an 85 yard touchdown reception. Hornets Hand Pryor First Loss - Bennett Injured and Out 4 Weeks |
-October 9The Hornets defense put the stop on the Pryor rushing attack, allowing only 4 yards rushing to the previously undefeated Tigers. The result was a 35-6 victory for the Hornets Friday night at Pryor High School Stadium. The win could be costly for the Hornets, as QB Eric Bennett was injured in the 3rd quarter and will miss the rest of the regular season. New QB Jordy Albert filled in and was impressive in his first action of the year, scoring 2 touchdowns. Dante Barnett aided the dominant defensive performance by grabbing 3 interceptions, and Aries Herrion returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown. READ THE STORY IN THE TULSA WORLD...
